Bamboo is both flexible and elastic. As a result items made from bamboo tend to be very resilient and resist breaking when placed under stress.

Great attributes for a natural straw.  It pays to soak them sometimes in cider vinegar to sanitise and using a straw brush to clean the inside of the straw.
